Besides the nitty-gritty of travel how-tos, I am really interested in the ways that traveling shapes our sense of identity. Being foreign can be an eye-opening experience, and our responsibilities and freedoms as we move around our planet are really complex. I also think a lot about what it is like to move around the world as a woman, and think feminism is absolutely related to travel, because it relates to the way our bodies are free to move -- or not -- in various spaces.
