Former Naval Flight Officer Jim Feldkamp has a diverse background spanning military service, law enforcement, politics, and academia. During his naval career, he navigated the EA-6B aircraft from the USS Midway in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991.
After moving to the U.S. Naval Reserves, he became a Special Agent for the FBI in Norfolk, Virginia. While there, he helped establish the Joint Counter Terrorism Task Force and participated in aerial surveillance activities as a pilot.
Exiting the FBI in 2004, he ran for Oregon's 4th Congressional District as a Republican in both the 2004 and 2006 elections. In 2007, he was recalled to active reserve duty to contribute to the early stages of what would later become the NMIO, focusing on the coordination of non-classified information related to maritime security across different agencies and nations.
Currently, he is a Subject Matter Expert at Georgetown University, creating a course centered around "Terrorism and Unconventional Threats." Previously, he taught as an adjunct professor at both George Mason University and George Washington University, covering subjects related to terrorism. In the academic field, he has also authored and edited a textbook through Cognella Academic Publishing on the "Theory and Politics of Terrorism."
