Adrian Alexander of New York Male • United States of America
Adrian Alexander of New York, born in 1946 in Bucharest, Romania, emigrated to the United States in 1964. Holding dual U.S. and Italian citizenship, he faced early adversity when his father passed away just six months after their arrival. Undeterred, he supported his mother while pursuing his education. He graduated from NYU Engineering School in 1970 with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and then from Harvard Business School in 1972 with an MBA.
His professional journey began in investment banking at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he was recruited straight from Harvard. He continued at Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb as VP of Mergers and Acquisitions until 1978. Seeking broader horizons, he spent the next five years in Milan, Italy, working for executive search firm Egon Zehnder, enhancing his international experience and professional network.
Returning to the U.S. in 1983, his entrepreneurial spirit flourished. In 1980, he acquired and revitalized Minneapolis Sport, a chain of struggling sporting goods stores, successfully selling the operation to its franchisees. His corporate acumen shone brightly as he joined Polly Peck International, Plc in 1987, orchestrating the acquisition of Del Monte Fresh Fruit Company and developing the firm’s Eastern European strategy.
His career diversified throughout the 1990s and 2000s. From 1991 to 1994, he advised a burgeoning corporate stationer, and in 1996, he founded the Phoenix Real Estate Fund, managing over 200 properties in New York City. His venture into technology came in 2000 with the creation of Technology Seed Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund focused on nurturing startups.
His innovative spirit led him to co-found Limores.net, a precursor to online ride-sharing platforms, which operated until 2006. He also managed and sold a medical imaging center in Astoria from 2006 to 2014. In 2010, he established Health Settlement, LLC, collaborating with local legal and medical professionals in personal injury finance.
On a personal note, Adrian Alexander of New York values his family and hobbies. He is celebrating his 29th wedding anniversary with his wife Susi in July 2025 and enjoys the mental challenges of chess and poker, reflecting his strategic thinking in business and leisure. His life story is a testament to resilience, strategic acumen, and the ability to adapt and thrive in diverse circumstances.
