Ahmad El-Khatib opted to venture out independently after gathering expertise working for different martial arts studios for years. In 2012, he established the Medina Center. This Falls Church, Virginia, the center promotes wellness and creativity. To help kids develop the wide range of skills he believes are necessary for success, he sends them to the Medina Center. Kids can modify their activities to meet their own needs. The center hosts concerts, art exhibitions, film screenings, and workshops. The primary focus is on sustainability, environmental education, and community engagement. Ahmad believes it is just as important to teach the future generation how to take care of the environment as it is to teach them how to care for their minds and bodies. El-khatib believes that the world may become better if people are encouraged to watch out for one another.
