Anais Amin is a Los Angeles-based professional who expertly blends her journalism, marketing, and community advocacy skills to effect positive change. With a Master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University, she is committed to using her expertise to highlight social justice issues and empower communities through informed storytelling and strategic communications.

Raised in Los Angeles, Anais completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), earning a Bachelor of Arts in English. Her time at UCLA was marked by significant involvement in student government, where she served as one of fourteen council members, representing a student body of over 30,000. She was a staunch advocate for social justice, educational access, and mental health services for veterans. Her leadership extended to managing a team of 40 volunteers and moderating a crucial political debate among candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Following her tenure at UCLA, Anais furthered her education at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, obtaining a Master of Science in 2020. Her graduate studies focused on multimedia journalism, producing a comprehensive master’s project that delved into the resettlement of a Syrian refugee family in the U.S. This included a detailed 5,000-word analysis, a published article about her family’s historical escape from genocide, and a video project on medication-assisted recovery.

While at Columbia, she also engaged in investigative journalism, covering civil and criminal courts in the Bronx. Her reports brought to light issues such as sexual abuse in Orthodox schools and the excessive use of force by private security personnel.
Professionally, Anais began her career in radio production at Marketplace, an award-winning public radio program produced by American Public Media. She started as an intern in June 2021 and was later promoted to a full-time production assistant, a role she held from January to December 2022. While there, she researched, pitched, edited content, and produced digital content for broadcasts.

Anais also worked at KPFK Radio 90.7 FM from 2017 to 2019, producing educational radio segments on various social, political, and scientific topics. Currently, she serves as a Marketing and Brand Manager for a fashion manufacturer, overseeing multimillion-dollar accounts and spearheading marketing campaigns. Previously, she was an executive assistant in a dental lab and a PR and marketing intern at The Borgen Project, where she focused on global poverty reduction initiatives.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Anais is passionate about community service, volunteering at animal shelters and a horse ranch for special needs children. She is an accomplished oil painter and photographer, using her artistic talents to enhance her storytelling further. She enjoys exploring the outdoors, visiting museums, and immersing herself in different cultures. Fluent in Armenian and English, she continues to improve her Spanish skills.

Anais Amin remains a dynamic force dedicated to making a meaningful impact in her professional and personal life through journalism, advocacy, and community involvement.
