Leadership at Calvary Industries has been a major part of Austin Morelock’s professional journey, shaped by years of experience inside and outside the family business. In 2025, he led Calvary Industries through a dividend recapitalization with Mason Wells while continuing to serve in his executive role. Calvary Industries was founded in 1983 by Austin’s father, John Morelock, Jr. The company is a chemical manufacturing business that formulates and produces blended process chemicals. Its products include industrial cleaners, conversion coatings, metalworking fluids, and waste treatment chemistries. Calvary Industries also blends, packages, and processes customer-owned products in accordance with client specifications. Materials are shipped in containers ranging from one gallon to bulk tank trucks, giving customers options based on their production and delivery needs.
The company operates two manufacturing locations. Its headquarters are in Fairfield, Ohio, and it also has a facility in Pineville, Louisiana. The Company also uses third-party distribution locations in California and Mexico. Calvary Industries has about 150 non-union employees. Its work supports many industries, including appliance, architectural, automotive, contract manufacturing, food and beverage, general industry, heavy equipment, HVAC, metal fabrication, metalworking, military defense, paper and pulp, and pretreatment.
After graduating from university, Austin started his career with Groupon in Chicago. He later joined Calvary Industries as an outside chemical sales representative in Dallas, Texas, where he worked for a couple of years. He then returned to Cincinnati, where he was born and raised, and became Director of Sales and Marketing. Through continued work and increasing responsibility, he later became CEO and President of the company.
The 2025 partnership with Mason Wells included investments from the Morelock family and Calvary's senior management team, as well as from the private equity firm. Austin said Calvary had spent a lot of time getting to know Mason Wells and had been impressed by the firm’s professionals, most importantly, its cultural fit with Calvary. He also said the company was at an inflection point in its history and was excited to bring in a firm that invests in people, partners with management, and has a deep network of industry resources to support Calvary’s growth.
Mason Wells viewed Calvary Industries as a strong strategic fit because of its established market position, commitment to developing technical solutions, and consistent record of profitable growth. The partnership was designed to support and accelerate Calvary’s continued expansion while preserving the service level and collaborative approach that have helped define the company.
