Ben Aderholt Male United States of America

Ben Aderholt is a Houston-based legal professional whose career reflects more than 50 years of sustained commitment to the practice and study of law. Over decades in private practice, he developed recognized experience in construction law, business law, and bankruptcy. He represented corporate clients, developers, and financial institutions in complex litigation and commercial transactions. In recent years, he has focused on teaching Construction Law at South Texas College of Law, guiding students with insight drawn from extensive real-world experience.

He completed both his undergraduate and law degrees at The University of Texas, where he built a strong analytical foundation. Expanding his academic reach, he later pursued graduate study in international law and completed coursework toward an LLM in International Business Transactions at Lazarski University. Participation in an inaugural exchange program provided direct exposure to comparative legal systems and global regulatory frameworks, deepening his understanding of cross-border commercial practice.

Aderholt began his legal career at Coats Rose, P.C., in Houston, where he concentrated on bankruptcy, creditor rights, and commercial disputes. His early work involved financial restructuring, contract disputes, and corporate litigation, requiring disciplined strategy and client-focused solutions. In 2002, he joined Looper Reed and McGraw, P.C., where he practiced for more than twenty-four years. His work there included construction litigation, contract negotiation, corporate advisory services, and international business transactions.

Construction law became a defining element of his professional identity. He advised contractors, developers, lenders, architects, and engineers on contract drafting, compliance, and risk allocation. His cases addressed project delays, payment disputes, performance deficiencies, and complex multi-party disagreements. Through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation, he sought resolutions that protected both legal rights and long-term business objectives.

Following retirement from active practice, Ben Aderholt transitioned fully into academia. For thirteen years, he has taught Construction Law with an emphasis on practical reasoning, case-based learning, and strategic analysis. By integrating principles from business law and bankruptcy, he offers students a broad understanding of project risk and financial structure. His career reflects consistent dedication to professional integrity, mentorship, and meaningful contribution to the legal community.
