Brian Kersten Veterinarian’s educational journey in veterinary medicine culminated in 1983 when he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. His early professional years were spent in a mixed animal practice in Burlington, WI, where he honed his skills and gathered invaluable experience. His dedication to community service and development took him to Haiti for 2.5 years, starting in 1985. After returning to the U.S., he took ownership of a veterinary practice in Baldwin, WI, in 2001, also serving as President of the Pierce St. Croix Humane Society.

The year 2016 marked a new chapter as he sold his practice, yet his passion for animal welfare never wavered, leading to the inception of Mercy Veterinary Service in 2021. His philanthropic efforts are evident through his volunteer work at Today's Harvest Food Shelf, support for Mercy Corps' global initiatives, and voluntary veterinary services at Barefoot Crow Animal Rescue.
