Chris Cain has devoted nearly 30 years to the long-term care and hospice field. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions where he managed hiring, training, team development, patient care quality, financial operations, marketing, regulatory compliance, and daily business activities. He has played a central role in creating multiple assisted living facilities, hospice agencies, and a hospital.
As CEO, CFO, and Administrator of St. Gabriel’s Hospice & Palliative Care, he developed a culture based on “People Caring for People.” He and his team provided care that addressed patients’ medical needs along with their emotional and spiritual support. Since 2012, he has guided St. Gabriel’s as it has grown into a hospice agency serving 300 patients and employing over 200 people across Texas cities, including Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, Houston, San Angelo, Corpus Christi, and Tyler. His work includes overseeing budgets, human resources, recruiting, operations planning, accounting, and sales management.
Earlier in his career, he served as Regional Director of Operations at a management company, where he led four Alzheimer’s care communities in North Texas. Under his leadership, the census increased by 14% in the first quarter, net operating income rose above 90% in most locations, and staffing and expenses were stabilized. As CEO of a Medicare-certified hospice agency, he achieved profit margins in the 20% range, reached break-even within eight months, expanded to 100 patients, and opened locations in San Antonio and Austin.
Chris Cain, Clear Fork Group, also held roles as Executive Director, Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Marketing Representative, and Hospital Administrator. In these positions, he managed hospital openings, developed referral networks, and led teams across several states while meeting business goals.
Chris Cain Hospice earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology from Southern Nazarene University. He and his wife have children and grandchildren. As a committed Catholic, he believes in providing care with respect and compassion. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on his ranch with Texas Longhorn cattle and Quarter Horses, as well as hunting, fishing, traveling, and participating in various sports.
