Denette Dunn is a dedicated sustainability expert and public speaker who has significantly contributed to her community. She previously served as Peoria's vice mayor and is currently a council member representing the Pine District.

As a council member, Denette established the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee to address specific issues within her district. What began as a small initiative has grown to include over 100 residents and public officials, showcasing her ability to foster community involvement and create lasting solutions.

Dunn’s professional experience includes a prominent role at Republic Services, where she worked as the Municipal Services Manager for over five years. In this position, she managed municipal contracts totaling more than $85 million for the southwest region. She also served as a registered lobbyist, advocating for legislation that helped form equitable partnerships between private companies and municipalities.

Her commitment to public service extends to various boards and commissions, including the WESTMARC Board, the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Solid Waste Association of North America’s Board of Directors. Dunn also served as president and legislative liaison for the Arizona Recycling Coalition, where she promoted sustainable practices across the state.

Before 2007, Dunn held marketing, sales, and management positions across multiple organizations. From 2007 to 2011, she worked as the Director of Marketing and Community Relations at Hudson Baylor Corporation, overseeing material recovery operations, handling public relations, educational outreach, and networking with key decision-makers. She was instrumental in securing grants and sponsorships and building relationships with municipal and state leaders.

Dunn's career continued at Republic Services, where she played a crucial role in managing contracts and supporting industry legislation. Later, she worked at Dickson Sweeping, helping expand the company’s presence in Arizona and Nevada and developing key projects such as compressed natural gas fuel stations.

Since April 2019, Denette has served as a Peoria Council member, focusing on the growth and development of her city.

Beyond her professional work, Denette Dunn supports various charitable causes, including Hart Pantry, West Valley Connect, and You Matter Too, an anti-bullying organization in Peoria.
