Dr. Sudesh Banaji Male United States of America

Dr. Sudesh Banaji, an Internal Medicine physician, has been serving Forest City, Arkansas, since 2000. He focuses on chronic care, preventive care, and wellness exams. He is the medical director and a provider at Internal Medicine of Forrest City, a clinic dedicated to enhancing healthcare in rural communities.


Born and raised in India, he completed his early education at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala in Mysore, earning high honors in physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology. He then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MBBS) degree at JJM Medical College, Davangere, at the University of Mysore. After earning his degree in 1987, he began his medical career with a rotating internship at Chigateri General Hospital in Davangere, where he gained experience across various medical fields, including surgery, obstetrics, and gynecology.


Continuing his training in India, he focused on anesthesiology from 1989 to 1993 at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India. During this time, he conducted research on the neuromuscular blocking properties of Pancuronium and Vecuronium in children, published in the PGIMER Bulletin in 1992.


In 1993, he moved to the United States, passed the U.S. medical licensing exams, and entered the Anesthesiology Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He then completed an Internal Medicine Residency at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN, from 1995 to 1998, where he was recognized as the "Outstanding Internal Medicine Resident."


After completing his residency, he moved to Arkansas in 2000, working initially in private practice and as an emergency room physician at Baptist Memorial Hospital, now known as Forrest City Medical Center. From 2002 to 2004, he worked at a clinic affiliated with Baptist Memorial Hospital, providing care to critically ill patients, many of whom were uninsured or indigent.


In 2005, he founded his private practice, Internal Medicine of Forest City, where he serves as senior partner and director. He expanded his expertise to include value-based care programs such as the Patient-Centered Medical Home, Primary Care First, and CPC-Plus. In 2008, he also became the Medical Director of the Earle Family Medical Clinic in Earle, Arkansas, serving patients from smaller communities.


His medical expertise includes managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He focuses on personalized care, ensuring his patients receive treatments tailored to their unique health needs.


Dr. Sudesh Banaji has served as director of various departments at Forrest City Medical Center and as Chairman of the Advisory Board.


Committed to community service, he has been involved with the Indian Cultural Center and Temple for over ten years. He regularly donates to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Autism Society of America.


Outside of work, Dr. Banaji enjoys music, movies, golf, and traveling with his family. He and his wife, who are also partners in his practice, run two offices in Forest City and Earle, Arkansas, ensuring their community receives comprehensive healthcare services.
