Dr. Jatin Patel Male United States of America

Dr. Jatin Patel is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology who has dedicated his career to caring for people with complex rheumatic conditions. He founded his practice in Georgia after recognizing that an independent setting would enable him to offer more attentive, comprehensive care. A simple purpose has guided his work: to help patients receive timely diagnosis, practical treatment, and steady support. Through that approach, he has built a medical career centered on service, trust, and long-term patient well-being.

Dr. Patel leads a practice that has grown to serve patients through seven locations across Georgia, including Canton, Cumming, Kennesaw, Lawrenceville, Roswell/Alpharetta, Suwanee/Johns Creek, and Woodstock. He sees patients in the Roswell/Alpharetta and Cumming offices, where he remains closely involved in clinical care. His goal has been to make specialized rheumatology services more accessible while still preserving a personal connection with each patient. He believes that listening carefully and explaining treatment clearly are essential parts of good medicine.

Jatin Patel, MD, has special clinical interests in osteoarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, vasculitis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and platelet-rich plasma therapies. He is motivated by the opportunity to improve the daily lives of people living with pain, inflammation, and reduced mobility. By focusing on accurate diagnosis and early treatment, he works to reduce suffering and protect joint and body function. His care style is thoughtful and measured, with attention to not only symptoms but also each patient’s broader health needs.

Dr. Patel and his practice diagnose and treat a wide range of rheumatologic diseases, including ankylosing spondylitis, bursitis and tendonitis, gout, granulomatosis with polyangiitis, mixed connective tissue disease, myositis and metabolic myopathy, osteoporosis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s disease, soft tissue disorders, lupus, scleroderma, and vasculitis. He has also helped shape the practice into a comprehensive outpatient center with infusion services, a CLIA-certified lab, X-rays, MRI, clinical trials, and an in-house dispensary, better supporting patients in one place.

Dr. Patel has pursued his education and training with seriousness and consistency. He completed medical school at C.U. Shah Medical College in western India, followed by an internal medicine residency at Jersey Shore University Hospital in New Jersey. He was later selected for a rheumatology fellowship at Drexel University/Hahnemann Hospital, where he gained extensive clinical experience in the specialty. During that period, he was also exposed to important work in musculoskeletal ultrasound, which led to publications, presentations, and certification in registered musculoskeletal sonography.

Dr. Jatin Patel has contributed to academic medicine through published clinical research articles in national and international journals. He has also presented research at national meetings of the American College of Physicians and at rheumatology research workshops held by the American College of Rheumatology. His involvement in research reflects a continuing interest in learning, sharing knowledge, and improving clinical care. He remains active in several professional organizations, including major associations related to rheumatology, internal medicine, arthritis advocacy, densitometry, and ultrasound in medicine.

Dr. Patel has received recognition for his work through several honors during his career. He was named Alpharetta’s Best Doctor in Rheumatology in 2017 and received Castle Connolly Best Doctor recognition in 2023. Earlier, he won the first grand prize in a national image competition organized by the American College of Rheumatology in Washington in 2012, standing out among 175 entries submitted from around the world. These achievements reflect not only his professional skill but also his steady dedication to the field and patient-centered care.

Jatin Patel, MD, draws personal inspiration from his family background, especially from his parents, who were both physicians. Watching his father make house calls at a young age showed him how medical care could deeply affect others' lives and helped shape his path into medicine. He values time with his wife, children, and parents, and he enjoys running, traveling, watching soccer, and trying new foods. His charitable donations to clinical research and patient-focused causes also reflect his belief in making a meaningful difference beyond the exam room.
