Dr. Kamran Massoumi, an accomplished ophthalmologist, heads the Oklahoma Eye Institute and Omni Surgical Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. Born in 1967 in Tehran, Iran, he grew up in a family with significant political and medical influence. His paternal grandfather served as the Minister of Agriculture under the Shah, highlighting the family's political stature, while his maternal grandfather, a pioneering ophthalmologist, instilled in him a deep passion for medicine.

Relocating to the United States in 1983 due to the Iran-Iraq War, Dr. Massoumi settled in Marin County, California, where he excelled at Marin Catholic High School. He furthered his education at the University of California, Berkeley, earning Medical Physics and Middle Eastern Studies degrees. He then attended St. Louis University Medical School, earning an MD with a research distinction. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Originally planning to return to California, Dr. Massoumi instead moved to Western Oklahoma, attracted by the urgent need for ophthalmological expertise. He joined BVA in 2002 and significantly impacted local healthcare, culminating in the founding of the Oklahoma Eye Institute in 2014. There, he introduced advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies that have revolutionized eye care in the region.

He also established the Omni Surgical Center in Lawton and an office-based operating room in Elk City, drastically reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for specialized care. This initiative has significantly improved the accessibility and quality of medical services in the local community.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Massoumi is married to a woman he met during his studies in St. Louis. She holds a master's degree in International Business from Webster University, and together they have two daughters. The family shares a passion for martial arts, with each member holding a black belt in Taekwondo. He also commits to humanitarian efforts, including medical missions to places like Vietnam, where he performs vital eye surgeries to restore vision to those in need.
