Thank you. https://beautythelook.wordpress.com . I am really just trying to puruse my dreams and start young. alot of the times people judge you on your age but i belive im way beyond my years and theres 100's of people that are getting paid to post pictures on instagram which is ridiculous to me so im trying to have a diffrent approach and i hope people can see that and give me a chance.

This was such a great post. Read it a few weeks ago and really like the way you made scheduling posts for social media so simple. I still use those image and post helps. Saves me lots of time.

Hi Dustin. I find this very helpful as I'm embarking on really sticking to a blog calendar!

Yet another thing that is hard to find time for. What I have done is identified those evergreen posts that seem to have attracted the most interest, and I find fresh ways to get the word out about them. Not all that is evergreen is equally attractive.

I’ll just come right out and say it— follower counts are mostly worthless. Having a million followers doesn’t mean anything unless those followers are engaging...

I agree with Randy. For social media marketers who outsource their services, follower counts are golden. For everybody else they are just one metric - not to be discounted, but far from being the most important.

There's two sides to this coin Randy:

1. The un-knowing on-looker who doesn't have a deep grasp of social media in general. Seeing high numbers is important for them because it's a form of "social proof" that they're used to using as a reference point. To them, it might be important and have psychological weight.

2. The internal-KPI (which is the stance this article is coming from) where you need to quantify ROI. For the internal measurement, it's clear that follower count is the lowest of success indicators.

So sure, it has psychological weight to the un-knowing, but for the savvy business owner looking for ROI they know it's nearly worthless.

I've now had the pleasure of working with mom/pop shops, small businesses in many verticals (apparel, commercial printing, biz consulting, retailers) and even enterprises (the largest having 30+ subsidiaries in practically every vertical you can think of). I'm now also working with an entertainment company here in Los Angeles. Do you know how many times I've had someone ask me how many followers I have?

Twice. Maybe three times. My response each time is to the effect of "how many do you think I should have?" And then I proceed to educate them on why it doesn't matter, and tell them how we can bring them ROI. This raises them up to a new level of understanding that proves our company is out to do more than fluff numbers.

I just wrote an article claiming the importance of follower counts. What I am saying only applies to our brand as social media Pro's. Every client I sit in front of asks the question, "how many followers do you have?". It does not matter much when the rubber meets the road but it matters a ton when talking to future clients.
