From San Diego, California, Glenn Wayne Trede emerged as someone whose path blends spirituality, resilience, and innovation. At 17, while many teenagers were still finding their footing, he joined a monastery and devoted himself to yoga meditation. In those contemplative years, he cultivated discipline, inner strength, and a profound sense of connection with the divine essence. This early immersion in spirituality gave him a foundation that would carry him through both triumphs and challenges.
At 21, Glenn left monastic life but soon faced a shattering motorcycle accident that left him with brain trauma and two broken femurs. His recovery spanned six years, during which he held a variety of part-time jobs, ranging from security guard to aircraft parts inspector. The hardship tested his body and spirit, but each role helped sharpen his adaptability. Rather than being defeated by circumstance, he drew upon his spiritual grounding to endure and continue forward with quiet determination.
In 1986, Glenn embraced a new direction by attending a computer technology trade school. He excelled academically, achieving a 90% GPA, which demonstrated his ability to master complex technical concepts. This success paved the way for a thriving career as a computer technician, where his dedication quickly led to advancement. He earned the trust of major clients, including Southern CA Edison and the Los Angeles Department of Water. His commitment even led him to make an emergency cross-country call to Maryland, underscoring his reliability and expertise.
Glenn’s personal life is intertwined with professional pursuits. His first marriage in 1992 introduced him to Amway, but the relationship ended swiftly. In 1995, he found enduring love with his current wife, and together they embarked on entrepreneurial ventures. Their endeavors included managing an 18-unit property and operating a Chinese restaurant that won community awards. These experiences reflected not only Glenn’s resourcefulness but also his determination to approach life’s opportunities with energy and ambition.
Through every stage of life, Glenn Wayne Trede has returned to his deepest passions: technology, spirituality, and the natural world. His monastic training enriched his work as a dispatcher, while his love for gardening, surfing, and sports reflects his connection with the natural world. Now drawn to maritime and aeronautical sciences, he continues to learn and expand his knowledge in these fields. His journey exemplifies the transformative power of resilience, curiosity, and faith, enabling him to turn adversity into opportunity and keep his spirit engaged in the pursuit of discovery.
