From playing ice hockey and baseball as a young girl to engaging in softball, powderpuff flag football, and rowing during her high school years at Martin County High School, she demonstrated a robust spirit of engagement and teamwork. Heather's leadership potential was evident early on, as she served as class vice president during her high school years, illustrating her natural inclination towards leadership and community involvement.
Pursuing higher education, Heather attended Mercer University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, minoring in Leadership and Service. Her college years were marked by active involvement in Baptist Collegiate Ministries and intramural sports, fostering a well-rounded character committed to service and leadership. Heather's academic achievements include co-authoring a research paper published in the Journal of Morphology. However, her academic and personal growth was deeply affected by the tragic loss of her older sister in a car accident, which instilled in her a profound sense of resilience and purpose.
Upon graduating, Heather returned to Florida, where she sought to remain connected to her family and community in the face of personal tragedy. She initially worked as a substitute teacher and a high school sports coach, roles that allowed her to channel her passion for mentorship and athletics into meaningful community contributions. She also continued her passion for coaching by leading the softball team at Jensen Beach High School.
In 2013, Heather took on a new role as the Director of Operations for a QSR in Largo, Florida. Her outstanding performance in this role led to her selection for a prestigious Interim Manager program in 2014, tasked with overseeing new restaurant openings across the country. Her success in this program eventually led to her appointment as the Owner/Operator of a QSR in Clearwater, Florida, in 2016, which she managed successfully until 2021.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Heather and her partner later entered the real estate and construction sectors, founding a cabinet design company and establishing Feather Lane Consulting LLC, focusing on restaurant business consulting and property management. Today, as an Executive Assistant and Project Manager in the construction and design industry, she leverages her extensive experience to oversee projects, ensuring operational efficiency and high standards of execution.
Outside her professional pursuits, Heather maintains a fulfilling personal life. She is engaged to her long-term partner, with whom she shares a love for travel and adventure. An avid surfer, Heather also enjoys playing guitar and participating in the local music scene in Tampa. Her interests in property renovation allow her to explore her creativity, taking on challenging projects that transform spaces.
