Holly DeNeve United States of America

Holly DeNeve is an Indiana attorney whose work has been rooted in child welfare law. For more than 10 years, she served with the Indiana Department of Child Services, managing complex, impactful cases involving children and families in St. Joseph County and beyond. Her dedication to thorough preparation and consistent focus enabled her to advocate effectively for children, even in high-stakes situations that went unnoticed by the public.

Holly graduated from New Prairie High School in 2004 and completed a degree in political science with a minor in environmental studies in 2008, graduating magna cum laude. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2011 and passed the Indiana Bar Exam that same year. Rather than pursuing private legal practice, she chose to serve the public, drawn to the responsibility of representing those in vulnerable positions.

Her legal career began with a temporary role as a legal assistant, which led to a full-time attorney position in St. Joseph County. She worked on cases involving children in need of services, adoptions, guardianships, and the termination of parental rights. Her role required drafting motions, handling discovery, preparing witnesses, and presenting in court. She became known for her calm presence, attention to detail, and reliability in managing complex cases.

Holly collaborated closely with caseworkers, judges, and prosecutors, always remaining current on relevant legal developments. Her practical knowledge and clear communication skills led to invitations to speak at continuing legal education seminars. In 2016, she briefly stepped away from the department but returned within a few months, continuing her service until September 2025, demonstrating her strong connection to the work.

Outside her legal role, Holly and her husband supported local programs that benefit foster children, families in need, and schools in their community. Her earlier law school experience assisting survivors of domestic violence strengthened her belief in accessible and compassionate legal support.

Holly DeNeve now looks ahead to opening a solo practice focused on mediation, guardian ad litem services, and child protection, continuing the mission-driven approach that has guided her throughout her legal career.
