Jason Nissen is a specialist in ticket brokerage and hospitality marketplaces, with a career spanning nearly three decades. During this time, he has been responsible for large-scale ticket sales, developing hospitality packages, and organizing events that range from Broadway productions and music festivals to global sporting competitions. His professional path reflects a consistent ability to bring structure, reliability, and memorable experiences to the audiences and clients he serves.
Jason’s approach is rooted in the combination of mathematics and people skills. His mathematical training enables him to analyze financial structures, logistics, and strategies with precision and accuracy. Alongside this, his natural ability to connect with others allows him to build trust and foster collaboration with clients, partners, and colleagues. Together, these qualities will allow him to manage projects that require both detailed analysis and effective interpersonal communication.
These strengths have enabled Jason to manage large projects efficiently, anticipate challenges, and adapt to changing circumstances. Whether he is working on a festival, a concert, or an international sporting event, Jason has consistently turned complex demands into well-coordinated outcomes that meet the needs of stakeholders and audiences.
His professional journey began after earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Hamilton College in 1994. At Hamilton, Jason also gained practical experience in leadership and communication by playing as a wide receiver on the football team and serving as social chair of his fraternity. These roles provided him with valuable lessons in teamwork and coordination, which became essential in his work in the ticket brokerage and hospitality industries.
For over 28 years, Jason has been an officer at The Ultimate Fan, where he has played a pivotal role in transforming the company into a respected provider of tickets and hospitality services. Through his leadership, the company has provided clients with access to world-class events, including the Super Bowl, the Final Four, Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Olympics. By combining careful logistical planning with personalized service, Jason has ensured that The Ultimate Fan can serve both individual fans and Fortune 500 corporations.
Jason has also worked in event creation. From 2015 to 2017, he served as CEO of Minus Zero Music Festival, an Electronic Dance Music event held in Stratton, Vermont. The festival offered a unique blend of EDM performances, complemented by skiing and snowboarding, presenting attendees with an experience that seamlessly combined music and outdoor recreation. Jason was responsible for all aspects of the event, including ticketing, merchandise, stage and audience construction, and safety measures. His leadership at Minus Zero demonstrated his ability to take creative concepts and turn them into organized, high-quality events.
His philosophy toward business and leadership has always combined long-term vision with direct involvement. Jason emphasizes the importance of communication and collaboration, crediting these qualities as a key factor in his success. From securing his first clients through college connections to building long-term partnerships with sports organizations and corporate groups, he has consistently focused on developing relationships that support lasting growth.
Jason has also navigated challenges in his industry, from managing regulations in ticket sales to striking a balance between profitability and sustainability. In preparing for the Minus Zero Music Festival reboot in 2024, he integrated eco-friendly initiatives, showing that responsible practices can be combined with high-quality entertainment experiences.
For Jason, fulfillment comes not only from achieving results but also from proving that ambitious ideas can succeed. He finds inspiration in individuals such as Phil Knight and Anthony Bourdain, who demonstrate persistence, creativity, and the ability to turn vision into reality. He also values the use of simple tools, such as a whiteboard, for collaborative planning and practical problem-solving.
Looking forward, Jason continues to focus on reimagining and improving live event experiences. With the rebranding and relaunch of Minus Zero Music Festival, he intends to merge past lessons with innovative practices. His nearly 30 years in ticket brokerage, hospitality, and event management highlight a career built on careful planning, strong relationships, and a commitment to creating events that leave lasting impressions.
