I was born in Worchester, MA. My father is a retired pediatrician and I grew up in the Phoenix area. Went to high school at Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, Arizona and graduated in 1988. I graduated second in my class out of 450 students. Went to University of California, Berkeley from 1988 to 1991. Graduated with a high GPA in Economics BA degree. Graduated from Berkeley in just 3 years. Went straight to law school at University of Michigan Law School from 1991 to 1994. After graduating, came to Arizona and passed the bar in July 1994. Worked for a law firm for about a year and then opened my own practice in October 1995. Practiced personal injury law primarily but also immigration and business law until I lost my license in late 2015. Jay Bansal has owned gas station convenience stores with real estate since 2004. Quite active in this business entire time through now. I have invested in hotel and apartment projects and am planning to get involved with buying new real estate in Phoenix area. Own and help operate a couple of medical software companies that we can discuss. Jay Ankur Bansal has been extremely active in the Indo-American Cultural and Religious Foundation of Arizona. Served as President in 2003 and various positions before and on Board of DIrectors of about 12 years. Served as its Chair of the Board of Trustees for two years after serving as co-CHair for 4 years prior. Helped fund raise and build a Hindu temple here in Phoenix. Donated over $100,000 to this organization in the past 20 years or so and am recognized for this on a “wall of donors” they have in the temple.
