Jeremy Rosenholtz Male United States of America

Jeremy Rosenholtz is an American educator, administrator, and writer whose professional career spans more than thirty years in independent schools across the United States. His work reflects a steady progression from classroom teaching to senior leadership, shaped by long-term dedication to English education, student development, and college guidance. Throughout his career, he has emphasized responsibility, consistency, and service to school communities rather than visibility or personal recognition.

Raised in Laramie, Wyoming, he developed an early interest in reading, writing, and thoughtful academic inquiry. That environment encouraged reflection and discipline, allowing his interest in language and ideas to grow naturally over time. These early experiences provided a strong foundation for later work with middle- and upper-school students, where patience and clarity became essential elements of his approach to teaching and mentorship.

Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Amherst College in 1991. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and received an Amherst College Merit Fellowship for graduate studies. During his undergraduate years, he also competed in national-level debate, placing 10th among American teams at the World Debate Championships in Scotland in 1990. This experience strengthened his ability to analyze complex issues, communicate clearly, and engage in structured argument.

Graduate study continued at Smith College, where he completed a Master of Arts in Teaching in English in 1994. His coursework focused on literature, pedagogy, curriculum development, developmental psychology, and learning differences. Additional coursework at Teachers College, Columbia University, further prepared him for leadership roles. He also participated in the Klingenstein Summer Institute Fellowship at Deerfield Academy, gaining practical training in private school administration.

Jeremy Rosenholtz began his professional career outside the classroom as an assistant editor at Penguin Books in New York. For two years, he managed book projects from acquisition through final publication, developing editorial discipline and attention to detail. He soon transitioned into education, teaching English at St. Andrew’s School in Florida, where he founded the Speech and Debate program. Under his guidance, the program earned national recognition within three years.

Jeremy joined the Ethical Culture Fieldston School in New York in 1997 and remained there for seventeen years. During that time, he served as an English teacher, college counselor, middle school team leader, dean, and trustee. He also cofounded and directed the Fieldston Summer Service Institute, an academic and service program for underserved students in the Bronx that was later featured in The New York Times for its educational impact.

After a teaching appointment at Phillips Academy in Andover, he joined Newton Country Day School. From 2015 to 2024, he served as Director of College Guidance while also teaching AP English Literature and middle school English. Today, Jeremy Rosenholtz lives outside Boston with his family and continues to balance education with writing, including the publication of his first novel, Your Biggest Fan, in 2024.
