Joseph Rallo is the Chief Executive Officer of E.F. Hutton & Co., which he successfully revived in May 2020. Under his leadership, the firm became one of the most active IPO underwriters by deal volume in 2022 and early 2023. With more than 20 years of investment banking experience, Rallo has completed over 500 transactions totaling more than $60 million in proceeds. Throughout his career, Joe Rallo has specialized in a broad range of public and private transactions, including IPOs, SPACs, follow-on offerings, mergers and acquisitions, fixed-income placements, leveraged finance, and restructuring. His deep knowledge of capital markets and strategic approach to deal-making allow him to navigate complex structures while maintaining transparency and trust with clients. Rallo began his career as a Summer Analyst at Lehman Brothers, later serving as Vice President in the Financial Institutions & Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Citizens JMP Securities. He went on to serve as Co-Head of Global Investment Banking at Aegis Capital Group before founding E.F. Hutton. His approach to leadership is rooted in six principles: lead by example, mentor emerging talent, communicate openly, set clear expectations, delegate effectively, and manage time with intent. In 2020, during the early months of the pandemic, Rallo co-founded E.F. Hutton, a Manhattan-based broker-dealer providing advisory and financing solutions to corporations, sponsors, and partnerships. He guided the firm’s expansion through digital innovation and agile strategies, enabling seamless collaboration and consistent service despite market disruptions. This forward-thinking vision established E.F. Hutton as a trusted, resilient financial partner.
Beyond finance, Rallo and his wife are dedicated philanthropists supporting global initiatives in education, healthcare, and cultural outreach. He serves on the boards of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, and the Rousseau Foundation, and supports Make-A-Wish America and Keep a Child Alive.
Joseph Rallo earned his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Notre Dame, where he played Division 1 Lacrosse and co-founded the Irish Fighting for St. Jude Kids. He holds FINRA Series 24, 63, and 79 licenses. A devoted husband and father, he values early mornings, family breakfasts, and maintaining physical fitness to stay focused and balanced. He resides in New York City with his family.
