Ken Termini Male United States of America

Ken Termini, renowned for his contributions to the pharmaceutical industry and high school basketball coaching, has shifted his focus to mentoring college student leaders for entry-level job interviews.

Graduating from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 1987, Ken embarked on his professional journey at Revlon. After two years, he moved to Forest Pharmaceuticals, marking the start of a notable 27-year career. There, he excelled through various sales and management roles, navigating the intricate healthcare landscape and earning the company’s top three sales awards: Rookie of the Year, Representative of the Year, and Sales Manager of the Year.

Ken’s professional ascent continued in 2002 when he was promoted to lead the State Government Affairs Department at Forest Pharmaceuticals' corporate office. His leadership skills soon led to another significant role, heading Forest Laboratories’ Federal Public Policy & Government Affairs department during the crucial period of the Affordable Care Act’s implementation. He concluded his pharmaceutical career in a strategic position at Forest Laboratories (now Allergan) as an Anti-Infective Hospital Specialist, focusing on infectious diseases and hospital-based IV antibiotics.

From an early age, Ken was advised by a mentor to plan his life in thirds:

A learning phase
A hard-working phase
A retirement phase, enjoying the fruits of his labor

He achieved this goal, retiring by 50 through disciplined financial planning and strategic advice from a skilled team of advisors. This careful planning included coordinating financial, estate, and tax strategies and developing a risk-tolerant investment portfolio.

Besides his professional endeavors, Ken invested over two decades in real estate, focusing on vacation rental properties. He played a significant role in developing large oceanfront properties and a 36-unit oceanfront condominium project in the Outer Banks. Despite divesting most of his real estate holdings, he continues to contribute his expertise to the Outer Banks non-resident property owner (NRPO) group.

Ken’s passion for basketball also shaped his post-pharmaceutical life. Since 1990, he has been coaching basketball, only taking a brief hiatus. His coaching career includes significant tenures at Palisades High School and Palmerton High School, both in the Colonial League. As the head coach of Palmerton’s Blue Bombers for eight seasons, he led his teams to several triumphs, including a District 11 Class 3A title in 2019. He also founded the Colonial League Boys Basketball Coaches Association to promote recognition of talented players.

Furthermore, Ken is an avid open-water swimmer, participating in events such as the challenging New York City SEAL Swim, a fundraiser for the Navy SEAL Foundation. This event involves a 3.5-mile swim from Liberty State Park to Manhattan, emphasizing endurance and mental toughness. He also engages in various other swims along the New Jersey Shore, in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina, maintaining an active lifestyle that challenges him physically well into his 60s.

Currently, he is developing Career Launch Consulting (CLC), a professional development firm aimed at enhancing interviewing skills among college students. Recognizing a gap in how student leaders utilize their experiences in interviews, he offers tailored mentoring and workshops. His plans for CLC include expanding its offerings to provide organizations with integrated content for their annual leadership training programs in collaboration with Lambda Chi Alpha.

Ken Termini’s career and volunteer activities highlight a commitment to leadership, mentorship, and the continuous development of potential in others, making him a respected figure in both the pharmaceutical and educational fields.
