His professional background reflects more than 30 years of combined military and law enforcement experience developed through operational duties, instructional roles, and command-level responsibility.
His academic preparation supported his progression into leadership positions. Military service formed the foundation of his leadership approach. He first enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1990 and served on active duty until 1994, completing his reserve obligation in 1998. Following the attacks of 9/11, he returned to active service from September 2001 through 2007 and was activated from 2004 to 2005 for Operation Iraqi Freedom II. During this period, he completed Instructor Development training, the Kaminsky Course, and the POST First-Line Supervisor Course. In 2010, his actions during a critical incident earned him the Henderson Police Department Medal of Valor, reflecting sound judgment under dangerous circumstances.
His career later expanded into specialized tactical operations. He was selected for the department’s SWAT team in 2009 and served until 2014. His duties included participation in high-risk warrant service, barricaded suspect incidents, and coordinated tactical responses. Over time, he was appointed Assistant Team Leader and later served as the SWAT Training Coordinator, contributing to training consistency and operational readiness.
From 2014 to 2016, he was assigned to the Problem Solving Unit, where his work focused on proactive investigations and repeat offender suppression. He authored search warrants involving narcotics trafficking, weapons offenses, fraud, and property crimes, demonstrating careful adherence to investigative standards and constitutional requirements.
