After graduating from high school in 2006, he attended the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, where he studied psychology with a focus on human services. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and received several academic and leadership honors, including the Chancellor’s Leadership Award. He later earned a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. From the beginning, his academic journey reflected a desire not just to learn, but to apply knowledge in ways that could help others.


Matthew's professional career began in residential therapy, where he supported individuals through emotional and behavioral challenges. He soon moved into leadership roles, including as Program Supervisor and Clinical Coordinator, where he worked with teams serving families in need. Alongside his full-time roles, he also worked part-time with various counseling centers, gaining specialized experience in trauma treatment and risk assessment. He received training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, and motivational interviewing—tools that helped him meet people where they were and support their progress in practical ways.


In 2023, he became a certified Financial Coach through Ramsey Solutions, expanding his ability to help others beyond clinical settings. Through his business, MatthewjRPC, LLC, he provides coaching to individuals, couples, and families seeking financial clarity and stability. He also volunteers by leading Financial Peace University classes and mentoring other coaches. His ability to combine financial tools with mental health awareness provides his clients with a more comprehensive framework for making real, lasting changes in their lives.


In 2025, Matthew Deets of Wausau assumed the role of President and COO at Impact Training Center, LLC, where he leads a team dedicated to delivering accessible and affordable training programs that foster personal and professional growth. His leadership is centered on structure, teamwork, and designing systems that serve people well. Outside of work, Matthew remains committed to serving quietly and consistently. He supports organizations that focus on health, faith, and community outreach. His volunteer work has included teaching Sunday school, participating in men’s conferences, and visiting clinics and outreach centers with therapy dogs. He and his wife are raising four children—three biological and one adopted. Together, they enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, and exploring national parks. Family time is a core part of their lives, offering connection, rest, and shared experience. Faith plays a steady role in his life and informs how he approaches family, work, and service to others.


Matthew also maintains an active lifestyle, having completed multiple races, including marathons and triathlons. Cycling is one of his favorite ways to stay active and centered. Travel is another area of focus for him and his family. Before turning 30, he had visited ten countries, and he continues exploring new destinations with his family. They have a shared goal of visiting every U.S. national park and every professional baseball stadium.
