At the tender age of seven, I began pounding away on the stubborn keys of my Grandmother's antique typewriter. I mostly wrote stories to entertain the masses, such as revolting gigantic spiders attacking a school bus full of young, helpless children. php_EOLphp_EOL
Later my stories evolved to gushy teen romances, daring adventures, and then on to more, "practical," content such as resumes and cover letters. I wrote thought-provoking articles for my college newspaper and website content for local businesses. php_EOLphp_EOL
I always felt that writing was important whether I was telling the fictional story of an adventurer seeking to conquer his quest or a non-fictional step-by-step guide on the skills necessary for optimal customer service. php_EOLphp_EOL
Writing, in any form, is an expression of empowerment, influence, and inspiration. Without writing we wouldn't have documentation of our history, concise instruction, or imaginative entertainment. php_EOLphp_EOL
I view my writing as a way of assisting others in some type of capacity whether through a gentle reminder to find meaning in life, inspiration to get up and do something, or a way to escape everyday life, to disappear into the unknown. php_EOLphp_EOL
Some writers have been dead for years, yet you still feel a connection to them when reading their work; as if you’ve opened a small door into their minds and understand them in a way that can’t exist with a superficial conversation.php_EOLphp_EOL
In a world flooded with non-stop social media, TV, movies and more, reading and writing methods continue to evolve but are no less vital to our well-being. I might miss that old type writer but I still love a good story. php_EOLphp_EOLphp_EOLphp_EOL
