Melinda Jones

I write for and am Editor-in-Chief for Salute the Day - a new magazine hosted by Mango Salute. We are interested in matters of culture, faith, lifecycle & communal celebrations and the art of greeting. I have a team of 25 writers from 16 countries who write from their own uniques point of view about the goings on around the world. My involvement in Mango Salute is an accident of birth. My children Shoshi & Ariel began Mango Salute and the rest is history. In my real life I am a human rights lawyer and advocate, a writer and a teacher. I taught law, political science and human rights for over 20 years at Australian universities. I have written, edited & co-authored 15 books; published 50+ articles in scholarly journals and lots more in magazines and newspapers; and edited my fair share of journals and magazines. I mainly write about rights and injustice – from racial hatred, to the rights of women and children, to the inclusion of people with disabilities. And I do quite a bit of interfaith work on the side, when I am not doing tapestry or dealing with my 5 children or playing with my 4 grandchildren. My main task is to bring to you the Mango Salute magazine – Salute the Day - and encourage you to become involved in writing and commenting on other people’s thoughts.
