Sharon Black is an Irish writer of commercial women's fiction.
A former journalist, she has published short stories in women's magazines. She placed 2nd in the 2020 Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival, short story competition and won the 2010 Dromineer Literary Festival short story competition.
When she’s not writing, she reads, walks, sees friends and drinks a lot of Italian coffee. She is an active member of a long-running book club in her village, where books and wine are consumed in roughly equal amounts. She loves theatre, old Hollywood films, every romantic comedy ever made and edgy stand-up.
In recent years, she has become close friends with Google Maps, thanks to her appalling sense of direction. She is highly allergic to shopping. Except for bag shopping.
Follow her monthly blog, This Funny Irish Life, where she writes light-hearted, personal columns or find her on Facebook as Sharon Black Writer, on Twitter @SBlackwriter and on Instagram at sharonblackwriter.

THE ANTIDOTE TO LOCKDOWN: ROLL OUT THE RETAIL THERAPY.
WE'VE reached yet another stage of Lifting The Restrictions here in Ireland. As Vaccines roll out, as the numbers in our hospitals decline, what we hilariously refer to as non-essential retail...
