Patrick's career started in 1998 as an investment analyst at Prudential Capital Group and Prudential Securities. In that role, he worked with commercial property and publicly traded real estate investment trusts. Six years later, he joined Deutsche Bank as vice president of investment banking. He later worked at a hedge fund in Illinois, focusing on long-short equity. He then became a managing partner at PWK Partners in Chicago, where he remained until 2012, before moving to Florida to establish PW Partners.
Patrick studied economics at Wesleyan University in Connecticut and competed in baseball and football. After a back injury ended his sports career, he transferred to Boston College in Massachusetts. He graduated with honors and earned a degree in accountancy. He later earned a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and completed Columbia University's Executive Value Investing Program.
He has held board, chair, and committee positions with BJ's Restaurants, Inc., Town Sports International, Del Taco Restaurants, Inc., and Famous Dave's of America. Nation's Restaurant News named him to its 2015 Power List. He was born in San Diego and raised in Boston by parents who were a school teacher and a naval officer. He now lives and works in Jupiter, Florida. Outside work, Patrick Walsh TMPL enjoys fitness, cooking, literature, and travel.
