Philip Nevenhoven Male United States of America

Philip Nevenhoven has 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry, working as a program manager and quality assurance leader. His work has included supporting executive, commercial, and military aircraft systems. Throughout his career, he has led complex programs, improved production quality, and ensured teams met aerospace industry standards, including AS9100, ISO 9001, and defense compliance requirements.

His commitment to craftsmanship and problem-solving began early in his life. Growing up in a small town in Iowa, he was curious about how things worked and were built. At 13, he helped remodel a house for a friend’s father, who owned a construction company. During that summer, he completed his first full electrical wiring job, which sparked his interest in practical work and hands-on learning.

During high school, Philip spent his breaks working with a general contractor, gaining experience in every phase of residential construction. His skill and dedication were recognized by his high school shop teacher, who accompanied him to construction sites during the summer to learn directly from the work being done.

After earning a degree in carpentry, Nevenhoven returned to residential construction before deciding to take the union carpentry apprenticeship test in a nearby city. At 19, he passed the exam with ease, becoming the youngest to do so without a formal apprenticeship.

His path took him from residential construction to fine interior trim carpentry, but after a job site injury, he decided to shift his direction. In 1995, he entered the aerospace industry in Kansas, where he worked on the interiors of custom business jets, marking the beginning of his long and steady career in the aerospace field.

Drawing on his craft background, Philip transitioned into roles in quality, engineering, and program management within the aerospace industry. He worked for major aerospace organizations in the U.S., Canada, and France, supporting executive and military aviation programs. Leading a team of over 50 quality engineers and program managers, he delivered large-scale programs and focused on continuous improvement.

Nevenhoven managed cross-functional teams in engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing, ensuring FAA conformity, AS9100 compliance, and ISO quality standards. His responsibilities included overseeing aircraft interior production, seating systems, and managing full program lifecycles from design and certification through delivery. He worked closely with OEMs and suppliers to ensure product conformity, manage subcontractor inspections, and address technical and compliance challenges in both domestic and international settings.

Philip has also led training, team development, and process improvement initiatives, working to enhance operational efficiency, minimize rework, and support FAA audits and customer certifications. His experience with CATIA V5, ENOVIA, and lean quality systems has contributed to design improvements, cost savings, and better manufacturability across multiple aircraft platforms.

Nevenhoven is known for his ability to guide and motivate teams while maintaining steady progress under tight deadlines and changing priorities. His clear communication and diplomatic approach have helped align stakeholders and support effective decision-making. He has served as the primary contact during conformity inspections, certification phases, and compliance reviews, leading quality system audits and collaborating with the FAA and international aviation authorities to ensure timely delivery and certification are maintained.

Philip earned his Catia V5 Certificate from Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research in 2006 and his AOS/Certificate in Building Trades/Carpentry from Ellsworth Community College in 1989.

He continues to give back by supporting organizations like Goodwill and similar nonprofits. He enjoys home renovations, fitness, and distance running, having received awards for finishing at the top in his class in races.

Philip Nevenhoven remains dedicated to bringing steady leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality in his work within the aerospace industry.
