Quentin Geczy Male Great Britain

Quentin Geczy, based in London, began his academic path at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor’s in Molecular Cellular Development Biology (MCDB) and Economics. After Yale, he attended the University of Sydney Medical School for two years and is looking to complete his medical education closer to home in Europe. Alongside his medical aspirations, he is also building a career in consulting and finance, focusing on healthcare-related fields.

Throughout the medical school application process, Quentin has remained committed to education and health through tutoring and research. He manages a private education business, supporting students in STEM subjects and guiding them through the university admissions process. In addition, he is developing an online business offering study materials for UK high school exams such as GCSEs and A-Levels and medical admissions tests, including the BMAT, UCAT, GAMSAT, MCAT, and the SAT.

After completing high school in Australia, he moved to the United States in 2016 to pursue higher education. At Yale, he focused on data analysis, theoretical modeling, and problem-solving using tools such as R while exploring subjects in both economics and biology. His thesis in MCDB, titled “Psychedelic Renaissance in Psychiatry,” examined the interaction between serotonergic psychedelics and the 5-HT2A receptor and their effect on neuroplasticity. This work connects to emerging treatments for mental health conditions such as PTSD, addiction, depression, and anxiety.

His academic training has given him a strong interdisciplinary foundation. Geczy can present complex concepts within present complex concepts using analytical reasoning, skeptical search, and communication skills. In addition to academics, he was a Division I Varsity Athlete at Yale, where he competed in Lightweight Crew, won an Eastern Sprints Championship, and placed second at the USA U23 Lightweight Men’s Quad National Team Selection Regatta. These athletic experiences taught him perseverance, teamwork, and resilience.

Quentin’s interest in medicine was shaped early by personal experiences. A cycling accident at age thirteen resulted in a fractured femur, followed by additional health challenges over the years. A later accident caused a subdural hematoma, spinal fractures, and dental trauma, which ended his athletic career but reinforced his drive to study medicine and understand the human body.

At the University of Sydney Medical School, he focused on Orthopedic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and General Surgery. He completed all course requirements and conducted his MD thesis on the demographic and clinical features of patients diagnosed with achalasia. His clinical rotations at Royal North Shore Hospital exposed him to specialties such as Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anesthetics, Intensive Care, General Practice, and Allied Health services like physiotherapy and speech pathology.

In addition to clinical experience, Geczy volunteered as a researcher at Sydney Musculoskeletal Health and co-authored two published articles on osteoarthritis treatments and clinical guideline assessments. His early clinical training also included placements at institutions in London, Melbourne, and Germany, giving him diverse exposure to international healthcare environments; he has tutored biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics for five years of students while supporting student-athletes with the US college recruitment process. His education business expanded quickly, and he continues to guide me through every stage of academic preparation and admission.

He is fluent in French, German, and English and holds citizenship in multiple countries. In his free time, he stays active through cycling, swimming, running, and skiing. Quentin Geczy continues to combine his scientific knowledge, academic experience, and personal journey to contribute meaningfully to education, medicine, and professional development.
