Roy began his service in the U.S. Army Reserve and later moved to active duty as an Armor Officer, ultimately spending about two decades in uniform. He became Airborne and Ranger qualified, led a tank platoon with the 1st Armored Division during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, and later commanded a cavalry troop in South Korea. He also worked as an operations and training officer, preparing units from company to brigade levels for deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, earning the Bronze Star for his service.
Gagaza began planning for a second career while still on active duty, leveraging his business marketing background and interest in financial education to help families understand key decisions. During his service, including a year-long deployment to Kuwait in 2004, he met with clients, conducted educational seminars, and studied for professional designations. He went on to earn credentials as a Certified Estate Planner and Registered Financial Consultant. After retiring from the Army in 2008, he carried his commitment to service into the financial world, focusing on retirement and long-term planning.
Roy Gagaza now leads a firm that offers retirement planning, investment and wealth management, tax planning, health care strategies, and legacy and estate services. He listens carefully to each client’s concerns and goals, aiming to design a step-by-step plan that fits their situation rather than relying on a single model.
