Safwan Sobhan is the Founder and Chairman of Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG). Sobhan was born in Bangladesh and spent part of his early life in the UK, where he attended Shiplake College in Oxfordshire, a school renowned for its emphasis on personal development and student care. In 2007, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on International Business from American Intercontinental University.

As the founder of Safwan Bashundhara Global (SBG), he has led the company into new markets and product categories. He is known for his direct leadership style, which employs clear strategies to achieve business goals and enhance operational performance. He ensures management teams understand objectives, oversees financial performance and keeps operations aligned with budget targets.

He has also guided the organization in supporting social responsibility efforts, including initiatives that reduced tuition for meritorious students at Bashundhara Ad-Din Medical College and provided lower delivery costs for pregnant women, allowing many families to access more affordable healthcare.

His commitment to strategic planning and operational management has earned him respect as an innovative leader in the industry. He promotes continuous improvement within the organization and develops clear workflows that align with company objectives. Under his leadership, the Bashundhara Group has adopted modern production methods, implemented automated management systems, and established efficient supply chains to enhance its business operations.

Sobhan has received numerous awards for his contributions to business and social initiatives. In 2020, he received the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of Bangladesh award for his contributions to the nation’s economic development. In 2022, he received the Global Leader of the Year award at an event attended by leaders, diplomats, investors, and dignitaries. He has also been recognized as the highest taxpayer in the young category for his contributions to the country’s financial growth and was named a “Commercially Important Person (CIP)” for his role in the industrial sector.
