Steven Joseph Wolfe of Rochester, Minnesota, a seasoned real estate investor and retired franchisee, embarked on his investment journey in 2013 with a portfolio that includes a 118-unit single-family rental community, five vacation rentals, multiple new construction apartment complexes, two Marriott hotels, and a medical biotechnology startup. His entry into the senior living market began in 2021 with a project in Durango, Colorado, which he and his partners successfully sold in the spring of 2024. Since then, they have expanded their efforts into seven additional senior living projects across Minnesota and Iowa.

Steven began a significant chapter in his career in 2000 when he became a Panera Bread franchisee. He managed six locations across southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, overseeing a workforce of over 350 employees. During his tenure, which culminated in the sale of his franchise in 2019, his operations consistently ranked among the top five for customer satisfaction nationally among all Panera franchisees.


His role included comprehensive team management, featuring direct oversight of general managers for each location and a district manager who assisted with regional strategies. His hands-on approach to leadership helped maintain high standards of service and operational excellence across the board.


Steven’s marketing strategies were vital in upholding the Panera Bread brand while effectively tailoring approaches to suit the local market. This strategy contributed significantly to sustained growth and facilitated the strategic expansion of his business.


Prior to his franchise venture, Steve Wolfe worked as an independent insurance broker, specializing in supplemental insurance sales in the Chicago suburbs. He also honed his sales skills and resilience by selling educational and Christian books during his college summers.


Steven was raised as the sixth of ten children in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1988 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in History from St. John’s University in 1992.


A dedicated volunteer, Steven Wolfe has been actively involved in supporting local nonprofits and food banks. His franchises alone donated over $300,000 annually in bakery products to community organizations.
