Susan Deveney, a leading expert in conflict resolution and mediation, heads Conflict Resolution Training Inc. (CRT) in Boston, MA. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Susan graduated summa cum laude with a double major in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and received the Dana Scholar Award for Academic Excellence. She furthered her studies at Suffolk University Law School, earning her Juris Doctor degree.
In 2010, Susan founded CRT, where she leads nationwide training, certification, and personalized professional development programs. These initiatives are dedicated to teaching essential skills such as emotional and social intelligence, empathy, mindfulness, diversity, and inclusion. Susan is highly skilled in various mediation disciplines, including divorce and family mediation, where she has over two decades of experience. Her efforts extend to training mediators nationwide and developing programs, particularly education mediation and workplace conflict resolution. These programs aim to enhance interpersonal communication skills, conflict de-escalation, and promote positive workplace behavior through social and emotional intelligence.
Her professional contributions also include significant community service. Susan has secured grants for conflict resolution programs in Rhode Island schools and actively volunteers, including tutoring ESL students and participating in Career Day events.
