Ujjawal Madan is a Georgia Tech MS in Analytics on-campus student. As the title implies, I come from an unusual background. My two main interests as a student were math and music, a not-so-unusual pairing. I chose to devote my whole life to become a professional musician, primarily an orchestral player, after getting admitted to Juillard for my undergraduate studies. During an internship in arts administration, though, I had the opportunity to work closely with the Analytics team on trends, modeling, and forecasting. I found myself organically migrating into data science since I was enthralled by the capabilities and promise of analytics, as well as its expanding importance across all sectors. My current goals are to broaden my data science skill set and toolkit, explore chances to use what I've learned, and discover new approaches to solving high-impact challenges.
