Wyatt Mould Male • United States of America
Wyatt Mould studied to become a journeyman lineman at Northwest Lineman College (NLC) in Meridian, Idaho. Founded in 1993, NLC is a private vocational institution that provides training for careers in the power delivery industry. After completing his education, he joined the IBEW Mountain States Line Constructors Joint Apprenticeship and Training (MSLCAT) Program, which combines classroom instruction with practical field experience. Through this program, he gained hands-on training in live-line work, system troubleshooting, and high-voltage maintenance while developing a strong understanding of safety procedures and electrical theory.
He worked on power lines across Montana, Colorado, Utah, and Texas for three years, traveling wherever his crew needed to restore power or expand service. His fieldwork exposed him to different terrains and weather conditions, helping him develop the adaptability, teamwork, and technical problem-solving skills essential in the electrical trade.
At NLC, he completed an intensive 15-week pre-apprentice program that combined classroom learning with hands-on labs. He studied electrical systems, circuits, voltage, and current while practicing skills such as pole climbing, conductor handling, splicing, and the proper use of specialized tools. Safety was a primary focus throughout his training, covering high-voltage awareness, fall protection, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
As a lineman, he was responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing electrical power systems, including overhead and underground lines, poles, transformers, and switches. His work often required focus and precision, especially under demanding conditions like storms or high elevations.
He has worked as an excavator at Borden Excavating in St. Calimesa, California, for over three years. In this role, he installs new water mains and services meter boxes. During this time, he completed a two-year construction laborer apprenticeship with AGC in Riverside, California, gaining valuable experience in trenching, grading, pipe installation, and heavy equipment operation.
He volunteers at Carol’s Kitchen in Riverside, California, where he has dedicated over 100 hours to serving meals to people experiencing homelessness. Guided by his Christian faith and devotion to family, he enjoys golf, motorcycle rides, camping, pool, skateboarding, and staying active—qualities that represent Wyatt Mould's hardworking and grounded nature.
