When you have a difficult choice to make project yourself forward to the end of your life, and think about how you would feel about the different choices if you had already taken them. Looking back on things from this vantage point normally makes the right decision clear and easy. I got that one from Jeff Bezos.

I think the best advice (or at least the most valuable lesson) for us has been simply "get out there and meet people." Something even more eye opening was not going to meet and talk with the most successful people you can find, but find someone in the position you want to be in a year or 2 from now. Chances are they just went through all the problems that are stressing you out now and their stories are much more relevant than someone who has been a millionaire for 10 years.
